Jacob fell in love with coffee during his stint as a barista. After some time out of the industry, he returned to pursue his passion in a new way: roasting! Always a student, Jacob never stops searching for ways to make coffee better. He’s inclined towards the sciences and strives to apply all he’s learned--and all he will learn--to create consistently fantastic coffee. The first person to call when the digital world comes crashing down, Jacob is also an impassioned computer geek who loves applying his tech skills to the roasting process.
When he’s not in the roast lab or messing with his computer, you’ll probably find him reading.
Coffee enthusiast, barista and willing participant in the active learning process we call life. Though he’s drank coffee for much of his life, it wasn’t until the first sip of third wave coffee met his palate that he knew coffee had it’s own culture. Since then, he has aimed to increase his skills in coffee knowledge, preparation, and roasting to help provide the same experience to the world at large. He is currently training for his Level 1 Certification from the SCAA.
Born in Leominster MA, Tom found his way to Newmarket NH where he currently studies Astrophysics at the University of New Hampshire. He also has two years education in Automotive Technology. When he isn’t making coffee, studying or rolling dice at his weekly D&D game, maintaining and improving his car is where his heart lies.
James N. Barrett III
Bean Counter, CEO, and tea drinker of all things…
Jim holds several degrees in all sorts of stuff but we rely on his Accounting degree and his MBA the most. Jim traveled extensively in far away coffee lands, fighting evil monkeys with his whip until one day he realized how much fun it would be to get tasked non stop about accounting issues and roaster repair. Claudia is thinking about nominating him for Most Supportive Husband EVER but then she falls on the ground laughing.
Senior roasting plant dog in charge of all things olfactory and also works as Chief of Security protecting us from his number one nemesis, the UPS man. Grover loves long walks on the beach and as boss as he is with all the other dogs he is very much afraid of the evil coffee grinder. But that’s okay. He brings a whole lot of cuteness into the roasting plant. That Grover? Total keeper.
