When Silvestre Justiniano Velásquez Morales planted his first coffee trees years ago, he wasn’t sure what would come of it. The goal was simple: test whether coffee could adapt to the land. What followed was a quiet transformation. Through hard work, technical guidance, and the steady support of his family, Silvestre turned a small test plot into a thriving farm. Today, Rancho Las Vegas is a productive micro-lot perched at high elevation, where each harvest reflects not only altitude and soil—but the dedication of a farmer determined to improve.

Named after its location near a river, Rancho Las Vegas spans 1.32 hectares at 2,000 meters above sea level. Silvestre cultivates Catimor, Bourbon, and Caturra—varieties that have responded well to the farm’s rich clay loam soil and mountain microclimate. With every harvest, he continues to refine his approach, adopting better methods for plant care, nutrition, and quality—all guided by curiosity and commitment.
